ABOUT ASHLEY HIGH SCHOOL CHORUS

The Ashley High School Chorus program has achieved many recognized accomplishments over the years and has a long-standing reputation of containing highly-talented students.  With three curricular ensembles as well as plentiful opportunities to perform outside of the regular school day, our program continues to grow and offer new opportunities.

The Ashley High School Choruses are directed by Mr. Mark Boston.  This is Mr. Boston's first year at Ashley High School, bringing a variety of musical experiences to the table.

Prior to teaching at Ashley High School, Mr. Boston taught one year of choir and theatre at Coastal Christian High School as well as three years of high school & middle choir and theatre in Buena Vista, CO.  He obtained his B.M. in Music Education with a Choral and Piano Emphasis from Millikin University in Illinois.  While attending Millikin University, he sang with the highly-acclaimed Millikin University Choir, touring both in the United States and internationally.

Mr. Boston has held a variety of directing roles outside of the classroom over the years, which include directing barbershop community choruses, community theatre productions, pit orchestras and community vocal jazz ensembles.  He also worked for a company that provided customized domestic and international tours for high school & college band, choirs, and orchestras.

Mr. Boston is happily married with two kids (who are both AHS alum!).  He enjoys playing keyboards in church worship bands, leading church community groups, spending time with family near the water, and just enjoying life to the full!  He is also a huge musical theatre fan!
